The company BUFFOLI is proud to announce that on 30th March 2009 we were presented with the International Prize

AWARD of MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
for the category TRANSFER MACHINES
INNOVATION
with the machine model
TRANS-N-CENTER "MAXI"

The Prize has been created  to promote the quality and design excellence of machine tools and production systems.
 
Only 75 companies were nominated, of which are leaders in the production of:

• Machining centers
  (27 companies all over the world)
• Lathes / turning centers
  (36 companies all over the world)
• Grinding machines
  (19 companies all over the world)
• Transfer Machines
  (7 companies all over the world)
• CNCs
  (13 companies all over the world)

Among the 75 nominated companies only 3 companies for each category were awarded the Prize TECHNOLOGY, Prize INNOVATION, Prize DESIGN. Furthermore, certain categories were also presented with a prize Special Mention and a prize Public Vote awarded by voting through the web site www.awarddellameccanica.it.

The company BUFFOLI has been the only Italian company to win in the category of TRANSFER MACHINES and is particurlarly proud of the award for Prize INNOVATION (the relative judging motivation will be submitted shortly).  The other two prizes for the category Transfer Machines were given to Swiss companies.

Both the nomination of the 75 companies and the final presentation of Prizes were performed by a Commission of Experts (university professors of Politecnico di Milano, engineers of CNR – Centro Nazionale delle Ricerche - and trade press). The nominated products were examined according to the following specific criteria:

Performance
(ease of use, versatility, flexibility, reliability, productivity)

Design
(appearance, functionality, safety)

Environmental impact
(energy saving, resource optimization, recycling)

Adequate use
of technology, materials and components.
